The Parents’ Place, Source Savanna-la-Mar “Big Man Thing” series of activities kicked off on Father’s Day with a successful Father’s Day Expo – “Celebrating Fatherhood” attended by 60 fathers, all of whom got presents, massages, pedicure, manicure, and a 4-course sumptuous dinner before they bonded in a series of Man-to-Man sessions following a Church service.
Our amazing senior citizen’s club organized their very own sports day featuring races, relays, sack races, and a dominoes tournament. The weather was beautiful, the athletes were energized, and the spectators enjoyed the wonderful efforts by all the participants – a great day. Check out the pictures and video below:
Volunteers from NYS, CSJP, HEART NTA, JN Foundation, local community members and the Source Staff gathered today to participate in Labor Day 2013 projects in Sav.
Volunteers helped with clean and paint at the Source as well as cleared out unwanted bush from the Hospital entrance. Overall it was a great day and an awesome turnout.

Last week the Source hosted a info seminar regarding products that could be made from goat’s milk. The seminar brought together farmers from the United States and goat farmers from Jamaica to talk about the different products and business potential. Through good conversation and collaboration it was determined that soap made from goat’s milk would be the most feasible. Check back within the year to see how far the project progresses and more importantly, to find ways that you can purchase the handmade soap.
You can see all the pictures from the seminar below.
This event was co-sponsored by the JN Foundation, JMBIC, and the Source.
